One of the main aims of MUTIS is to aid our members in securing internship and graduate placements in top financial firms. We hope to do this by initially informing members of the opportunities available, and then by helping members with their applications and interview preparations. In order to aid our members to the best of our ability, MUTIS looks to pursue what can be considered as a three dimensional plan.

Firstly, we hope to utilise the knowledge and experience of our own
members who have been through interviews and participated in internships. This will be done by regular networking sessions where senior members will be available to give advice to more junior members and also by creating a forum, where members can post any challenging interview questions they may have encountered in order to aid the preparation of others. We also advise you regularly check our "Careers Discussion" Forum on the MUTIS Blog, where you can interact and discuss anything career-realted with your fellow MUTIS peers.

The second dimension looks to leverage University resources availa-
ble outside the society, in particular the Manchester University career’s service, who, this year, we have worked hard with in order to build up a working relationship. In creating this relationship we have been looking to complement the personal experiences that MUTIS members can provide with the professional advice available from the career’s service. The career’s service is located in Crawford House on Booth Street East (number 31 on the campus map)  and as well as providing University students with careers advisors and one on one interview practice, their website offers multiple resources to aid preparation for applications and interviews, such as; practice psychometric tests, interview advice, CV guidance and help on what to expect at assessment centres.

The third dimension to our careers plan is to utilise our external
relationships with financial firms, who will be able to advise members of what they are specifically looking for in a potential intern or graduate and how best to impress their firm at interview. We hope to run CV and interview workshops throughout the year, particularly in the first semester where members will have access to the industry professionals who will carry out the recruiting process. Below is a list of career workshops we have arranged during the first semester 2010.
