| |  | | As a regular attendee of MUTIS meetings, events and conference visits in her first year, Emily now works closely with the committee to ensure the coordination of events and weekly meetings as well as the overall progression and success of MUTIS. She also holds the position of Editor for the Business and Finance Section of the student newspaper (The Mancunion).
Emily participated in the Spring Weeks of two major banks in 2011, receiving a fast track offer for one of their ten week summer internships which she will complete in 2012.
| Following on from his role as Head of Trading, Jan now assumes an advisory role in the committee, using his industry experience and insight to help members to improve their understanding of financial markets and to ensure the successful advancement of the society.
In the past, Jan has held positions at UBS, Credit Suisse, RBS, BCEE and Siegel Financial Group.

Jamie is responsible for forging new relationships with potential sponsors and partners for MUTIS.
Jamie undertook an internship for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in his gap year in which he was awarded a scholarship for his three years at University. During his time at university, he undertook a building project in which he converted a 17th Century barn into a two-bedroom house in Somerset. During the summer he will be returning to PwC as well as taking his ‘CISI Level 3 Certificate in Investments’ and a ‘Diploma in Trading and Financial Markets Analysis’ at Amplify Trading. He is looking to pursue a career in the financial services following graduation.
Artjoms is responsible for the publication of blog financial articles and weekly market round-ups. He works closely with all members of the committee in order to ensure that all society members timely receive up-to-date information about society. He maintains and oversees the IT infrastructure of the whole society. He is also responsible for preparing society strategy for attracting visitors to the MUTIS website.
Artjoms is passionate about equity markets and due to the nature of his degree he is especially interested in technology stocks. He is aspiring to pursue a career in the Sales and Trading department of a major investment Bank. He has had Spring Weeks at Credit Suisse and Citigroup and has received a fast track offer from the latter.
Umar’s role in the committee as treasury secretary is to oversee the society’s finances and to ensure the society spends on activities that benefit our members and improve the society. He is also involved in ensuring rooms are booked for our weekly meetings, as well as replying to emails to the MUTIS inbox.
Umar is a member of the CISI, has contributed several articles to the Business and Finance Section of the Mancunion. Furthermore he is an avid follower of the financial markets and has been actively trading financial instruments creating a diverse portfolio of long term and short term securities. Upon graduation Umar intends to pursue a career in M&A.
Maydul’s role as Vice-Treasurer is to assist the treasurer to maintain the budget; he is also responsible for Cooperate and Social Responsibility within the society.
As an Optometry student he has learnt valuable transferable skills that would be useful in the finance industry. He speaks four languages and is interested in global trade; he is touring and shadowing bankers, firms and factories in Shanghai and Beijing in 2011.
Following on from his role as fund manager last year, Philip is currently responsible for liaising with existing sponsors as well as maintaining strong relations with the Manchester Business School, Careers Service and Students Union.
Philip is a founder and managing director of two businesses, runs an international micro-finance project and has carried out work experience at a number of prominent investment banks/financial services firms including BoA Merrill Lynch.
Tsvetan's main responsibility is the organisation, coordination and continued development of the MUTIS Investment Funds, as a central point in the committee’s long term vision for the society. He is also doing regular talks on current macroeconomic issues and investment opportunities, as well as working alongside Vishal on the setting-up and oversight of this year’s trading simulations. He has attended investment conferences in Germany and the UK and aims to promote broader participation by society members in similar events in the future. Tsvetan is set to begin a summer internship with the Origination and Client Coverage team at Standard Chartered.
Miruna will be in charge of sourcing appropriate external and internal keynote speakers for the MUTIS meetings and will have hands on involvement with planning various events throughout the year. Organizing a trading simulation and an educational workshop are top priorities for the year to come.
After participating in the Study China Programme in her first year, she furthered her Chinese language studies at university and has been following China's economic expansion. Over the summer she will undertake an international internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers having the opportunity to work in the UK and Malta.
Lyudmil will lead all campus and online marketing activities and together with his team of officers will be responsible for the multilateral promotion of MUTIS’s self-vision of growth and integrity. Lyudmil believes strong UK event presence is crucial for the further nationwide recognition of the MUTIS face. Passionate about capital markets and corporate banking he will also take the opportunity to give weekly talks on various topics. Lyudmil is currently doing an internship in RBS’s CIB division.
Fahim's role within the committee aims to make MUTIS a conscientious agent of the wider society and thus improve its social awareness with the aim of creating a positive impact within the wider community through consistently liasing with stakeholders and measuring how MUTIS can be an effective member of the local area. This has been a paramount objective since the society's creation. Fahim also aims to market the society to students across varied disciplines and thus engage with a wide number of students at The University of Manchester.
