On Thursday 21st October, MUTIS were lucky enough to be joined by Barclays Wealth and MUTIS alumni James Pearson for a talk on private wealth management. MUTIS members were given an insight into the industry as well as an in-depth talk on what to expect as a recent graduate working for Barclays Wealth. MUTIS members were also given an overview of the internship opportunities offered by Barclays wealth as well as the opportunity to ask questions to senior bankers from the Manchester office and the chance to informally network and talk to these representatives on a more personal level. The evening was very informative and made members aware of another aspect of investment banking. MUTIS is very grateful to James Pearson and Barclays Wealth for their time would be pleased to receive feedback from MUTIS members of their opinion of the evening.

On Tuesday 19th October, MUTIS members were joined by members of the HR team from Barclay’s Capital for a CV workshop and talk on what to expect at investment bank interviews and assessment centres. Members were given insights into the qualities and attributes which Barclay’s Capital consider when screening applications. Members were also informed of useful resources to practice psychometric tests as well as partaking in sample numerical and verbal reasoning questions. The session ended with an extensive Q & A session where MUTIS members were given the opportunity to voice any queries they had about the application process. Those that attended the presentation found it to be extremely beneficial and MUTIS is very grateful to the Barclays’ HR team for their time and expertise.
